Has anyone gotten their flu shot? and when are you suppose to get them?

I got mine on Thursday at my monthly OBGYN appt. I am calling DD's doctor to get one for her too.

we all got ours last week. Get it now, fl season really kicks into gear within the next 2 weeks and it takes 14 days for the vaccine to have it's full benefits on your system

got mine the day i checked out of hospital in sept, after birth of DD
they start giving usually mid oct.. until about dec.. unless your elderly then they continue to give later on as long as they have some.
If you feel ill at all they wont give you until better.

I have gotten a flu shot for the last 20 years (i'm diabetic). It is actually a little late in the season to get it so get it as soon as you can!

DH & I were JUST talking about this at dinner - he says that every time he gets the shot, he gets sick that year so he is not getting it this year.

My company gives them for free to employees and spouses. I got mine last week (and had a bad reaction...got a yucky fever blister on my mouth)

totally not related, if you get sick it is just "by chance", if you get sick and you got the flu shot you would have been 10x worse if you didn;t get it, they are anticpating very debilating strains this year, he should get one

I have gotten the flu shot for 20 years and have never gotten the flu. At times i have gotten a little sick, cold and slight fever, but nothing close to the flu. I swear by the flu shot, especially because of my diabetes. I think because I have had one every 20 years, I have built up some sort of immunity.

I know. From everything I have read though, the shot is an educated "guess" as in the scientists around the world "guess" which strain will be infecting ppl this year and then go by that to determine which shot to give ppl.

its better to be safe than sorry. they once did a news report. u could have 2 people who gets the flu. one who got the shot and one who did, the one that got the shot won't get a bad case of the flu as the one who didn't get the shot
