Re: Has anyone had a breast reduction?

Hi, I booked mine for Feb, with Dr James Romanelli in Huntington. I am also getting a Tummy Tuck and hernia repairs at the same time.

Please tell me about yours. Is the pain terrible? Did you have drains? Could you shower, brush your teeth or dress yourself?

I am thrilled, but scared..Tell me it was the greatest thing you ever did for yourself.

Thanks, Tara

Hi there. I did a few years back. I was maybe 20. The pain was so-so but not terrible. I took pain pills for a day or 2.

Yes I had the drains. Removal was not fun but over in seconds. The stitch removal wasn't fun tho. I did save a pain pill for that.

Showering was hard. My mom did have to help me. Brushing teeth was fine. and getting dressed was OK.

I did it over a holiday weekend and was back to school in pretty much right away. I maybe missed 1 day.

Was it worth it? Totally. I loved how I felt and buying clothes was easier and I felt better.

Good luck. Please feel free to FM me.

Crystal

ME!!!

The BEST thing I ever did! EVER!

FM me for any info!!!

ETA - Yes, it hurt. I had the drains, it was kind of gross, but, it was worth every minute of it.

The night I came home from surgery, still foggy from the anastesia, I stayed up half the night trying on all of my shirts and crying. I was so happy they weren't tight anymore, and I finally looked normal (I was a EEE/FF on a relatively small frame, and was tortured everyday of my teenage life because of it Chat Icon )

Re: Has anyone had a breast reduction?

I used Dr. Peter Neumann in Great Neck. I had no drains and was back at work in 4 days. I had minimal pain and took one pain pill on day two.

Otherwise after about a week, my best friend took me bra shopping!

Having a hernia repair and a tummy tuck with it though is a lot. You will definitely be in some pain.

The breast reduction though for me was a breeze. I had a scar revision about 10 years later and that was easy too. I highly recommend Dr. Neumann.

Good luck.

Yes, it was the best thing ever. No regrets whatsoever.
