Has anyone had luck negotiating the price of a FSBO?
I found a FSBO listing we're interested in checking out and it says "willing to negotiate". I feel like I've heard that it can be more difficult to negotiate directly with sellers, but not sure if that's really based on anything. Has anyone had experience with this, either as a seller or buyer?

I almost think it would be easier and that the seller would be more willing to negotiate since he wouldnt have to pay the broker commission.

Definitely should be easier to negotiate with a seller one-on-one....rather then with brokers! Good luck!

Re: Has anyone had luck negotiating the price of a FSBO?
We bought a FSBO. The asking price was pretty low on it compared to other homes up for sale. If the seller is motivated to sell, there should be more room for negotiation.
We offered less than asking with our first offer and it was rejected. I asked the woman (the daughter of the seller) what she felt a reasonable offer would be and she told me it would be $10k higher. We slept on it and raised our offer $10k the next day and it was accepted.
We tried to negotiate a bit after the inspection but, we had no luck. We decided to go ahead and purchase the house anyway because it was still a great deal (and in the end, the issues that the inspector found weren't as big of a deal as he made them out to be).
