Has Anyone here interviewed new ob's?
So someone told me yesterday that I could make an apt with a few new ob's and interview them since I am not quite sure if I want to stick with my doctor. Has anyone here done that? If so how did you know you found the right one after talking to them once?

Re: Has Anyone here interviewed new ob's?
I switched OB's at 26 weeks due to moving. For me, I just wanted to make sure I felt comfortable with him, the way he responded to my questions about how I was feeling, the length of the wait in the waiting room, the likelihood that he would be the one to deliver my baby and his position on inductions. HTH

Re: Has Anyone here interviewed new ob's?
I am about to do the same thing too I am only 7 weeks along but want to make sure I find the best obgyn and one I feel most comfortable with. I am not so sure about the one I have been seeing and do not like the hospital I will be delivering at.
I already just set up 1 appt for next week to meet with another obgyn. I just asked if I could come in and meet him and they said sure.
Personally for me I want an doctor who is at one of the two hospitals I want to deliver at...(NY York Presbyterian or Mt Sinai). So I am seeing who is available there and then also I want a small solo office. I am def a nervous nelly....I have called my current obgyn twice already & he is the one who calls directly back every time. ( I am just not happy with the hospital he delivers at so I plan to switch). This is why I want a small office....so it is most likely him returning all emergency phone calls and also so I know it will be him delivering.
I am going to meet with 2 other OBGYN's in the next week. Then decide based on those things...hospital, timely call backs for emergency by the doctor, and knowing I have a greater chance of him delivering....and just who I feel most comfortable with.
Hope this helps you!

Re: Has Anyone here interviewed new ob's?
i don't believe in "interviewing" obs or peds per se.
i did meet with an ob when i was first pregnant because my gyn doesn't deliver. i listened to what he had to say and asked him my own questions. to me "interviewing" is for a job--i just wanted a general feel of whether i thought we were on the same page with things, which we were. i only met with one ped
