Has anyone made Bakerella's Cake Pops?
First attempt last night. Disastrous. They tasted good, looked hideous and I can't get the balls to stay on the sticks.
Any tips?

I make cake pops.
I bake cake, with a smidge more oil/egg that required, you want the cake to be moist. When it's cool, I crumble the cake in bits and form each ball with a tablespoon or so w/frosting. Then I put them on a parchment lined baking sheet and refrigerate for a an hour or so until firm; once firm, put in the stick Then I dip them in melted chocolate and decorate!

I did all that. How do you get the balls to say on the stick while you dip them? Mine kept falling down the stick.

Maybe dip them without the sticks, and then once the chocolate is dry, dip the stick in some melted chocolate and then into the cake pop?
I had a lot of trouble making them look pretty when I made them.

Re: Has anyone made Bakerella's Cake Pops?
OK bake the cake and when its cool put it in a bowl. Add the frosting and use an electric mixer to make sure its mixed well. Then refrigerate for an hour. Next roll into balls and then place on a cookie tray. freeze then for a few hours. I like to do at least an hour or two. I melt the chocolate in a double boiler. Then i poke the sticks into them and take them a few at a time out of the freezer. coat them in chocolate and them stand them up in Styrofoam to dry. They come out perfect every time. My fave is devils food cake with peanut butter frosting and milk choc coating. mmmmm

I made them as Christmas gifts without the sticks. They looked just ok until I found something called Drizzlers I think. It's white icing that is perfect for drizzling over the top and makes them look great. I bought that at Michaels.

I haven't made them yet but form the reviews I have read on other websites, if the balls are frozen, it is easier for them to stay on the sticks.

I haven't made them, but I would advise looking for a tutorial video on YouTube, they always help!
