Has anyone rented strollers at Disney?

I am having such stroller anxiety right now!

I am looking into all the different stroller options and although I think the City Mini Double stroller would be perfect to bring, I can't see spending $400 on a stroller that won't get that much use.

I have been looking online and see that you can actually rent the City Mini Double strollers down there and I was wondering if anyone has ever done this.... what was your experience like and who did you rent it through? It seems like they will actually drop off and pick it up at your hotel.

Thoughts?

Well I know I would definitely not rent a double at the parks ($31 a day or $27 length of stay per day)- either way a lot of money for something that can't leave the parks.

I would definitely consider renting one from a company down there though. Allearsnet and mousesavers recommends a company I think it was orlando stroller rental or something like that - they use city minis - I actually saw a number of people using them. I LOVED having my city mini down there it was great for the parks - the only thing is with renting - will you do the insurance in case someone steals the stroller? What about if it gets dirty how does that work - I know with 2 kids there was no way it wasn't going to get something spilled on it (in fact with us - DD#1 got the stomach flu out last night and DD#2 the next morning we were flying home) - DD#1 threw up all over the stroller - what would happen if something like that were to happen in the rental - is that sort of thing covered?

I would check out disboards - I know people over there have rented and you can ask about how clean they are, what they experiences are etc. You certainly can't beat having a stroller waiting for you at bell services when you arrive if you don't need it to get down there.

We brought our City mini down with us - for us though it was really helpful -b.c trying to get 2 girls, carry ons, 1 car seat etc to the gate with an 11.5 (she turned 1 on the trip) and an almost 3 year old - without the stroller would have been a nightmare - it was also helpful to have the stroller after the flight when we went to Magical express b.c it gave them something to sit in while we waiting in line for our bus.

Etd to add btw I had two parents stop me at the Poly where we were staying and asked if we rented our city mini and if we liked the stroller in general - one family had a front to back and another 2 strollers - and HATED them and decided to call and rent a city mini while they were already down there - I ran into them during the trip and they said they were very glad they had decided to call and rent the stroller.

By the time you rent one for 1 week you could just buy one.

They do not have a basket for storage either.

They are made of plastic. Think THICK RUBBERMAID.

Not super comfy either.

No, I wasn't talking about the Disney ones... there are actually companies that rent out City Mini strollers. It would cost us about $70 to rent one for a few days with insurance.... or I can suck it up and pay $400 to buy one. My only concern with buying one is that DS is going to be 3 in a month... how much use will I actually get out of it? Chat Icon

Oh OK!

DS is 3 and a big boy and I don't think he would have enough use of that stroller. It's too small for him!

I would rent it.

But what are you going to do with the airport?

I was glad I had my stroller for DS.
