Has anyone returned anything to Best Buy after 30 days?

Has anyone returned anything to Best Buy after 30 days?
My DH bought a new cord for his TomTom on September 17th. Well, ti didn't fix the problem with the TomTom, so he hasn't ever used the cord. It has been sitting in the box with the receipt on my back counter since then.
I just read the back of the receipt last night and it says no returns after 30 days. How strict are they with that? I am planning on going to the store where he purchased it with his card that he purchased it on with the original receipt.
Or should I not waste my time and list it on Ebay?

I would try to return it at the store.
I exchanged a wall mount for a flat screen almost a YEAR after purchasing it and they let me do it.
