Has anyone scanned a picture for their holiday cards?

I had pics down at Picture People and ordered their cards but didn't order enough. So I scanned one of the other pics and used it in a shutterfly card. It came out really good and I don't think you could really tell I scanned it.

I scanned her school photos and reprinted some at Walmart. Came out great! Can't even tell the difference. To be fair I'm REALLY picky about photo quality. hahaha

My friend tried to scan and order from Costco and another from Sam's, and went to pick them up, and they wouldn't release them without a copywright release. I also tried to pick up gift tags with a scanned photo of my kids and niece a couple of years ago, and they said no, it was a professional pic.
