Has anyone taken any of the classes given at Huntington Hospital?
I am thinking of taking Infant Care, Breastfeeding and Labor and Delivery...just curious if anyone had any experience with them.

i took the infant care and breastfeeding and infant CPR. infant CPR and the breastfeeding were most helpful. infant care was good, but being a teacher of young children and having a lot of experience with kids, it was common sense, IMO. (childproofing your house, safety issues, etc.)
I definitely want to take Labor and delivery. best of all they're all free! you can also call them and they'll schedule for a tour of the maternity ward.

Great! I am not due until September, but we'd like to start to take a few classes. I will def. call to schedule a tour! Thanks!
Infant CPR is probably a good idea too. I will talk to DH about it.

I just took the Labor and Delivery 2 weeks ago with DH... It was super informative, and the Nurse teaching it was really good...
But... DH and I had rented the laugh and learn videos about labor and we watched it before we went. And the Nurse said EVERYTHING the woman in the video said...!!
DH and I were laughing b/c we knew what she was going to say before she said it!!! But it was good to know what the Hospital procedures are...

where can you get the schedule - i am delivering at Huntington Hospital but i have not switched to my new doc yet
also when do most people take the classes - i am due the first week in october

my doctors office gave me a schedule.
Susan Goldman is the contact person, her number is 631-351-2364. Mon-Fri before 3pm.
