Has anyone tried the cabbage leaves in the bra trick to dry up the milk supply?

I have heard this works but I wanted to see if anyone had any luck with it.
Apparantly my milk is coming in and to be honest- it hurts more than my stitches down below. No joke.
I was crying last night- icing them- taking advil.
I bought some cabbage leaves today and have been wearing them in my bra all day. Umm- holy stink! I keep thinking the baby needs a diaper change- only to realize it's me and the cabbage I'm cooking on my ta tas!

Anyway- did this work for anyone? How long did it take?

My DH is loving my overnight D cups but I can't take the pain much longer!

I had the same issue- holy pain! I just got goosebumps reading your post and reliving it After people on here recommended the leaves, I did it.. It seemed to work, Motrin definitely helped with the pain as well. After about 3 days or so the pain substantially subsided (for me). Good luck!

I did it. I don't think it helps dry up the milk as much as it just helps the pain and the swelling. I walked around smelling like soup for four days But damn it felt good!

yup and they work

put them in the fridge, then put them in the bra until they wilt, repeat

you WILL smell like cole slaw but it helps the pain

Cabbage worked for me too!!! I think I remember putting some leaves in the freezer and boy was it heaven!!!

Yes, it worked for me...change the leaves as often as possible!

I did it. I'm also not sure if it helped but I was willing to try anything.

I did it also...between that and ice packs everything was dried up and back to almost normal size in about 24 hours.

Also, don't let the shower water hit you from the front and keep wearing really tight sports bras.

It did NOT work for me AT ALL.

It was the only thing that gave me some relief because I was engorged for a week!

that is so painful! try sudafed too...antihistamine should help dry things up a bit...motrin and ice too! i was in serious pain for 3 days but it was a full week until i felt better. wear a snug sports bra too, stay out of a warm shower, and know that it will end!

Worked for me Just change them when they wilt.

I was 2 days postpartum in Pathmark buying a hear of cabbage Got me out of the house It really helped with the pain as well as drying up the milk.

I also avoided hot showers and slept with a tight bra on.

I used bags of frozen peas. I don't think it helps dry up the milk at all, just for the pain of engorgement. It takes a long time for it to dry up.

Yep, I did it. I think it mostly helped the pain, but it DEFINITELY felt good. You just have to get over the fact that you will smell like saur kraut for a while! But they def helped me!

My neighbor swears by this..

fortunately or unfortunately however you look at it, I had no milk really come in, and didnt swell or have pain. So i cant say that i tried this myself to know.

Get some Sudafed or anything with an antihistamine. It will also help to dry up your milk.
