Has anyone's DC had their adenoids removed?
Just wondering what your experience was? The ENT dr. suggested this as our next option for dd(she will be 6 in Aug.).

Don't know from a mom point of view but I had my tonsils and adenoids out when I was 7. Didn't get sick again (except for an occasional sniffle) until I was 14. I still rarely get sick.

Add me to the list too...I had tonsils/adenoids out when I was 5. I remember my parents explaining to me exactly what was going to happen; I brought in a stuffed animal & they gave him a tag like mine; lots of ice cream. It wasn't bad & it really cut down on the sore throats. Definitely get a 2nd opinon though

My 8 year old son had his tonsils and adenoids out in March. I thought it would be much worse then it actually was. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask!

My friend's daughter did. It helped her significantly with sleeping/breathing. During the night she was getting very little air.
She came through with flying colors.

Thanks for the replies!
This wil be just for her adenoids. She had an x-ray, showed they're enlarged. She is constantly stuffed up- ever since she started school. Just when she seems better, a week or 2 later it starts all over again.

My friend's daughter as well and she was fine. She also had tubes put in her ears as well.
