Re: Has the new calorie postings on the fast food menus affected how you order?
It depends on how much I want to treat myself. It definitely mentally adjusts my intake for the rest of the day.

Does it affect what I order? No.
Does it affect how I feel about myself after I've eaten it? Yup

Yes! When I'm buying lunch and I'm torn between two choices I will almost always choose the one with the lower calorie content.

Re: Has the new calorie postings on the fast food menus affected how you order?
yes it always shocks me that 1300 calories is normal for these places (applebees for ex). It makes me lose my appetite and I end up ordering something advertised as "diet"

Re: Has the new calorie postings on the fast food menus affected how you order?
NO, but if I was on a diet, then yes it would help. But then again when I am on a diet, I already know the calorie/ point conversions for fast food.

Re: Has the new calorie postings on the fast food menus affected how you order?
Yup, sure has. Now I just don't eat there. One night, I was running around and did not feel like cooking when I got home, so I went to Wendy's or one of those places and did the drive-thru with my kids. I looked at the menu, looked at the calories and proceeded to drive home and tell myself not to be lazy, just go make my kids something. And honestly we never went that much to begin with, maybe twice in 6 months would be a lot, but now, I will never go back to a place like that unless I absolutely have to, like we're on a road trip and run out of food we've packed or something.

Re: Has the new calorie postings on the fast food menus affected how you order?
Not really. I've been weight conscious long enough that I have a good idea of calorie counts. Also, since I don't eat that much fast food, when I do I suck it up (literally and figuratively ) and consider it a splurge.
However, I will admit that I was fully prepared to get the iced lemon loaf at Starbucks the other day but refrained when I saw that it was almost 500 calories. I didn't realize it was quite that bad, and it's too much to spend on something that would leave me hungry an hour later.

Re: Has the new calorie postings on the fast food menus affected how you order?
I got some McD's on Saturday. At least in this particular restaurant, the calories are on the big board, so it makes it very difficult to read what's going on... Now, they have the item number, price for large, medium, small, grilled or fried (for chicken), plus the new calorie and fat info. Too much stuff on the board now!!!

I feel like it has the opposite effect for me LOL
Why get a 500 calorie salad when I can just get a 900 calorie burger and REALLY enjoy it!

Re: Has the new calorie postings on the fast food menus affected how you order?
It absolutely does!!
I am dieting, and have worked very hard. I've lost 44 lbs since Feb, and I don't want to "fall off the wagon".
Stopped with the kids at McD's (a treat since they only really eat that maybe 3-4 times a year) after the pool yesterday...I didn't get anything for myself. Came home and made a salad.
I just can't justify all those calories for a measly 4 bite "hamburger". I just can't.

Re: Has the new calorie postings on the fast food menus affected how you order?
No. I knew it was bad for me before they told me the actual numbers. If I'm going out to eat, I'm going to eat. I'll make up for calories throughout the day elsewhere.

Re: Has the new calorie postings on the fast food menus affected how you order?
The Calorie count is just for the main meal or hamburger DOES NOT INCLUDE THE SIDES..(fries, rice, potato, slaw....). I do not eat fast food & try to limit eating out.
Its a Calorie/Fat warzone out there.

Yes. I try to order the lesser of the evils when I am see the calories. Sometimes I am surprised that something that SHOULD be "healthier" like a chicken dish is actually worse than say ribs

same here! Even if I'm craving something, as soon as I see the calorie amount I lose that craving and pick something healthier. I love having the knoweledge to make the better choice right in front of me. A lot of the times I'm shocked at how many calories certain things are...like some of the salads!

Same. Then I end up being annoyed because I could have made something better at home.
I just can't order something knowing its more calories than I'm supposed to eat in an entire day.

Re: Has the new calorie postings on the fast food menus affected how you order?
No. I rarely eat fast food. If I do, I'm going because I really, really want a crunchwrap/Big Mac/whatever. I'm not expecting to eat healthy if I'm going to a fast food place, so I don't care.

I don't eat fast food, but it definitely influences my choices when out at a chain restaurant.

I eat fast food maybe once a month, so no, I don't ever bother to look at the nutritional value of any of the items, other than to get a good laugh out of them.
I know what I'm getting into by walking into a McD's or whatever it may be. I don't need to be shown a chart telling me that I'm about to consume crap.
Pretty much sums it up for me. I eat fast food every now and then so it's not a big impact.

Re: Has the new calorie postings on the fast food menus affected how you order?
If I am craving something - I don't look at the calories...which isn't too often.
If I am going out or need to grab something quick because of a crazy schedule I go for the "best" option.
