Hates her pack n play! Need suggestions!

On my other post about morning routines and not napping, a lot of you mentioned the pack and play as a place where you put them to get some things done. Our bedrooms are upstairs. So during the day, we have the pack and play down here. She used to play in it and take naps in there. Now for some reason, she HATES it. Even if I put her in just to play, she screams! I dont know if she associates it with nap and thats why or if its something else.

I was thinking of moving it, changing the position of it to maybe give her a different "outlook." Does anyone have any other suggestions as to what I can do to get her back in there for a bit?

I dont want to start napping her in the crib because she HATES naps and if she starts to hate the crib, I am afraid she wont go in there at night. TIA

I don't know if I have any advice - but ours is in front of a tv and I put a movie in so I can get a shower and maybe a couple of other things.

Ali doesn't like being in it too much either.

Maybe give her a new toy in there

My DD is 8 months old and we've never even opened our pack and play. I don't even know if it would be worth it now?! Sorry I don't have any advice...you just got me thinking Chat Icon

No suggestions, I could never convince my daughter that it was fun to be in!

I would try a new toy or even tupperware or big kitchen spoon, something they're not "supposed" to have but is safe. Ryan loves getting into stuff like this and entertains himself a while like that. (as long as someone is nearby that he can see)

How about this? Graco makes it. DD plays in it and is always content. I bring it out with us and we put other babies in there too, to play!

Is she crawling? can you just put her down to play? That's what I always did b/c DD wouldn't last long in the PNP.
My house is childproofed pretty well so I don't have to worry.

She has her free time outside of the playpen during the day. But when I want to vacuum, shower or just have her nap, she wants no part of the thing. I think its because she associates it with sleep. Its the nap thats the big issue right now. And like I said..I dont want to try the crib because then at night she will have problems going to sleep and I REALLY dont need that now. Chat Icon

What works for me is putting Molly in there when she is well rested and fed. So I usually put her in after her nap and her bottle when she is most content. That is when she will sit and play for a while otherwise, she will want to get out right away.

How about getting a playard? You know, the one that's just basically a fence for your livingroom? You can fit tons of her toys in there. Honestly, though Noreen, you're going to have to condition her to stay in there, too. Let her fuss a bit, but try it for five minutes, the next day, try it for 7 minutes, etc. I agree about giving her some new toys and putting it infront of the tv. And don't be afraid of her hating her crib, by NOT putting her in there for naps, she might be thinking there's something not right, anyway.
