Have a wedding at 18 weeks
Think I'll need a maternity dress?
Any suggestions- It's Sunday November 1. Afternoon wedding at the Watermill.
ETA- we are low on cash since we are closing on our house in a few weeks- so I'd like to keep it Under $100

Re: Have a wedding at 18 weeks
I am 18 weeks and in maternity, but for dresses, any empire waist still works. Do you have an empire waist dress? You can buy non maternity!

Re: Have a wedding at 18 weeks
i'm 18 weeks and while i am in maternity pants i'm still wearing my non-maternity shirts. as long as you have a dress that's not super tight i think you'll be fine.

Re: Have a wedding at 18 weeks
I went to a wedding at 32 weeks and didn't need a maternity dress, dig through your closet you'd be surprise what would still fit.

Re: Have a wedding at 18 weeks
I think dresses are so much easier to fit into then pants... try on everything you have now...I'm sure you'll find something that fits well. I had a wedding at 19 weeks and I didn't buy one

Re: Have a wedding at 18 weeks
I have a wedding in about 4 weeks. I will be roughly 4 months.
I have a dress from ATL that I plan on wearing, it's not maternity.
Unless you are uncomfortable in "regular" sized dresses, save the money for when you need maternity clothes.

Re: Have a wedding at 18 weeks
If you need to buy a dress, there are some inexpensive dresses at Motherhood. I got a plain black dress for a wedding at 24 weeks and at 35 weeks for $30 (and I can wear it to work and to other functions as well). I dressed it up with jewelry for the wedding.

Re: Have a wedding at 18 weeks
Is it sad that I'm kind of disappointed I most likely won't need a maternity dress?
I go from hating the "feeling fat" thing to wishing I had a HUGE belly...lol.
I'm sure I'll have something in my closet I can wear.
Thanks ladies!

Re: Have a wedding at 18 weeks
I went to a wedding when I was about 18-20 weeks. I had an empire waisted dress where the zipper comes a lil lower on my back (can't wear a bra with it).
I was fine wearing this belly wise (just started to pop), however, my bigger problem was nothing fit my boobs. They had grown SOOO much.
My advice would be to wait until the weekend before the wedding, try on any possibiilties, and if nothing works, run out and get something.
However, if you have more weddings later on in your pregnancy. I would just go get a maternity dress that you will wear to all weddings.

Re: Have a wedding at 18 weeks
I had a wedding at 21 weeks and I didn't need a maternity dress - I borrowed a dress a size up from my normal size from my friend and it fit perfectly.

I wore this dress to a gala (wedding like) and it's good for even when you're not pregnant. I too paid $30. Can't go wrong!
