Have airlines lowered ticket prices?

DH just booked a trip to OH for his Mom's surgery and it was SO cheap! it was the same price as maybe 4 or 5 yrs ago.

I kinda noticed that I booked a few things for my mom and they weren't last last minute but only 3 weeks away for 1 trip and a month away for the other and they were both really reasonable..I thought maybe it was b/c they were off times..but maybe things are getting a little cheaper ..I Hope SO!!

Many airlines are beginning to drop their fares on specific routes. For one, they are feeling the economic pinch like everyone else, and secondly, oil prices are dropping at a pretty fast rate. Another sign of dropping fuel costs can be seen in the cruise industry, where some lines are beginning to plan a reduction in, or the abolishment of, their fuel surcharges.

Fares will probably stay high during the peak travel dates around the holidays, but barring another surge in fuel prices, we should see more reasonable fares become the norm again.

i think so! we are going down to NC in a couple weeks for a wedding. we were looking at driving down because when i checked flights it was like $250 a person- for a 2 hour flight!! BUT i just checked again this morning, and they are now down to $140 a person! so... now we might be flying after all!
