I got this last Thursday - it doesn't hurt at all but I have like a large bump where the shot was administered in my arm. Did anyone have this before? How long did you have it for? I have tried warm compresses but it hasn't gone down yet and it has been a week as of tomorrow.

I refuse it but it sounds just like the Dtap reaction on AJ. Her lump lasted about 2 weeks. Guess you could call?

I had it when I had the twins back in September. I didnt have anything like that but it sounds like a normal reaction to any shot. If it really concerns you it couldnt hurt to call someone but I think you're good.

I haven't gotten it recently Chat Icon but I remember after DS's last booster he got a huge bump and it was red and felt hot for a few days. I thought it was infected but it wasn't.

See I asked for it b/c my last tetenus shot was back in 2000 so they recommended I get it (I wanted the pertussis).

I know that a bump is the most common side effect but I was surprised it lasted this long which is why I hoped another mother would tell me their experience. My mom used to be a nurse which is why I knew to put warm compresses on it - but she doesn't know about the shot itself.

I got it & all grandparents who will be taking care of baby got it. No reactions at all (except a little soreness in the arm).

But... yes, reading about it: swelling at site is the most common side effect.
