have any of you guys gone jet skiing this summer? would you?
my sister is 19 weeks pregnant. Vacationing on my uncle's lake next week where she is looking forward to jet skiing....I said absolutely not. She can't believe I said no and said she will speak with her doctor.
She called me back to tell me not to tell my mother or she is going to war with me.

To much bouncing on a jet ski...too dangerous...especially if you get tossed off/hit a big wave.
There is no way I would get on one.

There is way too much bouncing...I would never do it. It's too rough.
We were in the Caribbean last week and my DH was jet skiing and the guy running them looked at me, and said "You're not going on, are you?"
Ummmm....no way!!!
I took all the pictures from the beach!

While pregnant? If you can't go on rides at amusement parks if pregnant, how in the world would you be able to jet ski?

No Way! I actually went on a cruise in the beginning of this pregnancy and my doc said to take it easy and not do anything too rough! I wouldnt jet ski.

my doc said no! Jet skiing, water skiing and going on the boat is my favorite thing to do in the summer, but doc said she would rather i didnt go on this summer!
there is always next summer!

Try explaining to her that, although the fetus is well-protected, a bad fall could cause placenta abruption, which would mean her baby would have to be delivered immediately. For a 19-week fetus that means certain death. I'm sure once she saw things like that she would gladly put off jet-skiing until next year.

I wouldn't & I'm pretty sure most docs would agree on this.

she's 19 weeks!? wow she's crazy for wanting to get on one of those things!! i've always wanted to, but i think i'm gonna have to wait til after this little one to get on a jet ski!

I wouldnt. Never been so not sure how fast they go and when you fall off how hard you can hit the water.. I would be afraid that could cause damage..

This post made me curious, especially about the boat thing since I had plans to go out on a boat soon and didn't give it a second thought. Called my Dr and asked him about jet skiing, boating, and amusement park rides. His reply was:
"WHAT are you smoking?"
Guess that's a no.
