Have any of you MOMs needed to get vaccinated??
When I was PG with DD, my OB told me my rubella results were unequivocable (?), meaning I am not immune to it, but not necessarily suseptable(?) to it. I am scheduled to get the vaccination tomorrow. I am a little uncomfortable about it because it is a live vaccine, although weakend, and DD is just shy of 4 months. I asked her ped 2x if I should get it and he said I should. Has anyone gotten vaccinated as an adult with a LO? If the ped said it is OK, that is what I have to go on and all the drs- my OB, her ped and my GP-all said I need to get it. I guess I am just nervous and need to relax

I was given the DTaP (or whatever the adult version is called) vaccine while I was still in the hospital but that was it.

Re: Have any of you MOMs needed to get vaccinated??
I would definitely get a vaccine if I was not immune to something and my DC was not old enough to at least receive the shot themselves (so they have no immunity). You never know what you will come in contact with. Esp something like rubella and you think you would like to get pregnant again. My friend is a rubella baby and her mom caught it while she was pregnant with her - her OB misread the lab results and she DID have rubella - anyway she has multiple issues (growth stunt, 2 different eye colors, multiple eye problems like cataracts, deaf in one ear and severe hearing loss in the other).
As long as your doctor says it is safe to be around your DC then I wouldn't think twice about it.
