Have to order a bridesmaid dress
So I was asked to be in a wedding and although I am very excited, not too thrilled about having to order the dress, if you know what i mean...
This is an out of town wedding and the ordering of the dress is all being done over the phone. I went to a seamstress to get my measurements taken and I am currently measuring a size 10 at 29.5 weeks pregnant. I've only gained 13 lbs at this point. I was a size 2 pre-pregnacy.
The girl at the dress shop was insisting i order a size 14 for a wedding that is 12 weeks after I deliver. If I only have 10.5 weeks left till my DD, does that seem right. I can't imagine me being bigger than I am right now 12 weeks post delivery.
I opted to order a size 12 (figuring that was playing it safe) and the girl gave me such a hassel. Am I being a jerk about this?

Re: Have to order a bridesmaid dress
you will be smaller around the waist, but your boobs might be bigger - maybe that's what she was worried about? you're supposed to order for the biggest part of you so she may have been taking that into consideration.
that being said i've known quite a few bridal shops to make you order up so you then have to pay for alterations.

Re: Have to order a bridesmaid dress
I'll be a BM at 5.5 months pp. She picked a JCrew dress so I ordered 2 dresses - 1 size larger than my regular size and 2 sizes larger. I tried them on at 7 months pregnant. Both fit over my belly, but the dress 1 size bigger didn't really fit around my boobs. I decided to keep the one 2 sizes bigger. I'm glad I did that b/c my boobs have gotten evem bigger now that I'm BFing.
I gained a lot of weight the last 2 months of my pregnancy mainly due to swelling. Even though I've already lost almost all of the pregnancy weight at 6 weeks pp, my body is totally different. My hips are wider and things have shifted. It's always easier to take a dress in than to try to alter a dress that's too small.
