Have you ever brought a video camera to a sono?
Tonight is my big level II. We already know that baby is a boy, but from what I understand, this is the most comprehensive sono we'll get through the whole pregnancy. And at this point, we don't know if there will be a baby #2 (for a while, at least!).
I would love to share it with my family, but I know the Dr's office isn't keen on a party in the sono room. And there's no way I'd invite my ILs there anyway...
Have you ever brought a video camera to a sono? I don't know if this is weird, or something that people actually do.
Please don't think I'm a weirdo!
(I'm going to bring a DVD with me as well - I know some u/s machines have recording capabilities, so that may be an option too. If that's available, we obviously won't need to pull out the video camera.)
Thanks!

Re: Have you ever brought a video camera to a sono?
yes - but we checked with the RE beforehand - the doc was FINE with it.
Give your OB or place you're getting done a call - see what they can do!!!!!!!!!

Re: Have you ever brought a video camera to a sono?
argh...i'm trying to avoid calling them! The receptionist often knows nothing and more often than not, her answers are wrong.
Do you think it would be OK to just ask the tech before she begins tonight? It's the same tech we've seen for the past 10 weeks - we've kind of built up a little relationship. I think she loves my DH!

Then yes - don't call and ask the tech. Keep it in your purse until she comes in the room - don't have it like OUT and HI THERE...
The WORST thing they can say is no - but if it's a yes and you didn't have it on you - you'll regret it!

I'd like to but last time I went there was a sign that said no cameras or video cameras.

Re: Have you ever brought a video camera to a sono?
the tech said my DH couldnt tape during the anatomy scan, but as soon as she was done she would let him tape it. He did it with his blackberry (its still in my profile)

Re: Have you ever brought a video camera to a sono?
not allowed at my place.
I was so unimpressed with our level 2- the tech stunk... was all business, just flying through it trying to get the shots. And she got really crappy pics (not her fault, we have a stubborn child ) but it was just a real let down. We were happy that everything looked good and the baby was healthy (obviously the most important thing), but we decided to get the 4D now (which we had both strongly decided against) b/c of that experience.
