Is this weight ok? Growth sono... 38 weeks

I am confused...

My doctor sent my for a sono to check the weight of the baby...

I was thinking that the baby would be over 9 lbs because my belly is huge...

I dont have GD....

I was told he weighs 7lb 4 oz at 38 weeks....

I have heard of others with much bigger babies ...

I am seeing my ob on Thurs....

What do you ladies think?

The size of your belly does not predict how big your baby will be. The growth sonogram is an estimate of how big your baby is. I have seen people's babies be born more than a pound off from the growth sono.
7lbs 4oz is around an average weight for a baby. Your baby will way less or more than that. It is not a great predictor!
Sounds like the baby is right where it should be!

My ds was born at 38 weeks and he was 6.5lbs. I had an u/s a couple days before and one right before they induced and they were within a half pound of what he was.
