Re: Have you ever felt ....
Yes, a few times. Actually just yesterday, we had a blowout and I had this feeling like how are we ever going to be the same. Then I had all these things running through my head, living without him and It scared me, because I love him so much and the thought of not being together scared me. But luckily, we did get through it, talked everything out and had an extremely wonderful wonderful day together, something we haven't had in a long time.

Re: Have you ever felt ....
yes, this past months have been very hard on us as a couple. We have said it many times that we should separate but we are still here.
You have really good times but you can have very bad times.

I have definitely worried about that, and then I think of what life would be like without him, and it is worse than any fight we are having.

I agree.
last week was a rough one for us, and i definitely had those thoughts running through my head like 'Ugh! do i really want to deal with this FOREVERRRR?!?!". But, we were talking about going to europe in October, and DH said kidding around "assuming we're still together then...", and i was like 'we're not gettng rid of each other THAT easily"
like Jackie said- sometimes seem sooo rough, but, compared to the thought of not having him in my life- theyre not so bad

Re: Have you ever felt ....
Wow, last week must have had something in the air. Yes. I hate to admit it too because on here and LIW, everyone seems sooooo happy and nobody ever admits on here that we've all been pushed to those points, and on more than one occasion, I'm sure.
It's hard when someone doesn't see themselves as being wrong, or the other doens't fight the same way. Marriage is f*&$^ing hard. REallyyyyy hard. Not too many people admit to blowouts that shake the foundation. Not too many people admit that they go to therapy or see a counselor. Not everyone admits that it sometimes goes that far.

WELL SAID! I agree 100%
most of us talk about all the good things that we go through and keep to ourselves the difficult times....But we all have them....EVEN the ones that claim they "never fight"

SO True! i completely agree with both of you!
i always see these posts about "how amazing DH is", and Yes, i think my DH can be amazing, but sometimes i wonder what We're doing wrong, or if somethings 'missing'. i try not to compare, and ive actualyl gotten SOO much better at it- because really, all you know is what people TELL you, not Everything that happens.
i don't mean this to come out Mean or be taken the wrong way, but sometimes i like seeing the posts "AHhhhhhhhh i can't stand my DH" or "i'm gonna kill him!!", b/c it feels a little more reassuring.
if this were a few years ago, i'd probably be posting those threads too... but knowing how personal DH is, and how he likes to keep that stuff private, i guess i've gotten better at not broadcasting the negativity out of respect for him (instead, i just vent to my girlfriends instead ).

I love the ones that say they never fight . My BF told me that she and her bf never fought. That was after being together for like 2 years. I thought, is there something wrong with me? But then I realized that either they didn't really communicate or didn't spend that much time together or one always agreed just to avoid confrontation.
Plus, the making up is tender and passionate.
Either way, couples argue and everyone reaches that breaking point. But not everyone admits to it.

I don't mind the stupid fights actually....itis the more angry ones that bother me
but just like the stupid ones they pass
i have noticed that arguments come in spurts and then leave for a few months

ditto!!
the angrier ones are harder to get past too-- b/c you feel like you almost have to compromise your feelings sometimes in order to 'let it go' and move on.... and thats tough to swallow sometimes (yeah, DH and i are both a little stubborn in that sense )

Re: Have you ever felt ....
I also think that sometimes the angry fights involve your being, your sense of self, your morals or ideals maybe. The little fights are just that-over little things, like milk or dinner or socks. But the big ones, the angry ones, like neenie said, you have to almost forfeit your beliefs to move on. And they are a lot harder to get over. They follow you for days!
Everyone in a couple comes from a different place and has different 'evidence' for reasons and reasoning. When that evidence clashes, when whatever you bring isn't seen the way it needs to be seen, it's hard. I'm so glad my MIL has admitted to me that there were fights in which they threw things. They have been married for 36 years and they too had those fights. My grandparents separated when I was little. They've been married for 52 years. Maybe those aren't the relationships I want to emulate entirely, I can appreciate that they were there and have come far from there. That gives me hope.
I love my husband. But he is far from easy to live with. F a r from easy to fight with. But I couldn't picture being without him because no matter how bad the fight, he's still my best friend and I need him to be complete.
