Have you ever sold your car to one of those used car places?
Im looking for a legitimate place to sell Dh's 200 Blazer With the baby coming, we need a newer and bigger car Its in good condition and we looked up the blue book value and it varies from 4200-5000
DH called a few places and got offers of 4400, 4800 and 3800 (withouth even looking at the car)
We want to make sure we use a good place to sell it. There is a loan on the car and we plan on paying whats left off with what we get for it, and using the rest, plus some savings on a pre-owned truck that DH wants
TIA

Why not trade it in for the pre-owned truck?

Because we need the money to pay off the loan for the car We dont want to be having loan AND car payments to make each month

The dealer will work with you. If the car is worth more than the loan amount, they'll pay off the loan and apply the rest toward the downpayment on the car.

That is what we did when we traded in our Camary for our Quest.

youwill get more money if you sell privately. By as much as 2K!
I sold my car to car cash years ago and did very well.
One caveat, if you are willing to buy another vehicle from a dealer they may give you more money. I would go look at other cars and then hit them with the trade in after the deal is made.

don't waste your time
my DH was quoted over the phone by car cash or one of those places as fair price for our SUV
when he got there- it was a different story
they also did this to my friend at work
