Have you gotten a Passport for your child?

Hi -- we'll be travelling in June - any info on applying for a passport for a one year old? I'm trying to get to the post office, but thought I'd ask here first.

we just mailed our application for our son 2 weeks ago.
you can print out the pdf from the following link:
http://travel.state.gov/passport/get/first/first_832.html


you should fill it out asap b/c it takes 6-8 weeks to get it (unless you pay extra to expedite it)

we're going to europe at the end of july so i didn't show anything since i still have a while...

you may need to show your itinerary if you need to expedit it, but i'm not sure.

We went to the post office. We knew we when we were travelling. But you can lie. you don't need proof.
I will tell you both you & your husband has got to be there. You need 2 passport photos, the birth certificate, we brought there SS cards (I don't think they needed it though), both you & your husband have got to have ID as well. It's pretty easy really. It took all of 5 min at the post office & we got them in 5 weeks. But, this is the busy season so I would do it this week to be on the safe side.

For a child under 14 BOTH parents must go with the child or you need a notorized note stating that the other parents is allowing a passport to be issued.
