Have you noticed your puppy change?
I couldn't really remember back to when we first got Molly how she was.
But, Abby - for the first two months that we had her - was the biggest mushball there was. She would lay on anyone - for HOURS at a time. She NEVER barked at us. Was basically an angel dog.
Now - I just have a feeling it's because she is more comfortable with us - she is def. has much more spunk. She will talk back to us - and get fresh at times (She has never gone to bite us or anything like that)
The way she is acting now - is almost like we have Molly back with us (well, not half as bad as Molly - but def. more like her) --- it's just amazing to me. I wonder - is it something that we do to make them like this - or is it just that she now knows us as her family and she is being her little puppy self?
This also happened - we noticed - right after she got spayed. Do you think there is any correlation?

I think it's more the way we treat them. I had a doberman years ago and now I have a weimeraner - they act a lot alike and are not even in the same family of dog types. I think it has more to do with the way they are trained and treated in the home...with some exceptions for individual personalities

Both dogs have now tried to act like the Alpha with my husband - and we think it's because he loves them too much -- and is soooooo all over them - that they think they are the boss over him.

Re: Have you noticed your puppy change?
yes, but I think most puppies will do that, they will act out at times and you need to set boundaries for what is Ok and what is not. With Riley, once she became bigger than the other dogs she has tried to be dominate over them both, manly while playing; I'm trying to get her be submissive to Jessi and Morgan; which she is at times. What is good is that Jessi doesn't back off, she lets Riley know "hey, I was here first, you back off!." Make sure they know you are the Alpha, you def don't want your dog ruling the house
