Havent posted in a while- Baby Justin came early
Well today is my due date, and Justin was born on July 29th.
My contractions started around 5:30 last saturday, i stayed home and walked around the neighborhood, ate dinner, and prepared myself for the next 3 hours. Around 8:30 my contractions were about 6 mins apart so i called the Dr. He said to come on in, in which i did. I took my time b/c i knew once i got there i would be in a bed. So when i got there around 9:30-10, they checked me and i was only 1cm, same as i was on thursday. i was bummed. but the pain was manageable and the contractions were still 5 mins apart. They werent busy so they admitted me and started with the Antibiodics. My mom and sister were with me and around 12:30 i was only 2cm so i told them to go home and i would call when things started to pick up. Around 2am the contractions were soo bad, there was no break in between, so i decided to get demerol. That did NOTHING! I didnt even want to take it, but i figured i would beed rest since i was only 2cms. Well i was wrong about that! I was climbing the railings on the bed, begging them to get the baby out. So they called the DR to come in (he wasnt at teh hospital). By the time he got there, about an hour later, he checked me and i was 9.5cms. It was insane pain, but i was thrilled it was almost over. So they gave me an epi to slow things down so the dr can get ready and so i was more comfortable for pushing. Well...my body had other plans, i started pushing while they were trying to get the epi in. I just couldnt help it, he wanted out! SO by the them the epi kicked in, the baby's head was one push away from crowning. About 20 minutes later, out came Justin Carlos. So it was an intense experience since it was so fast, but i wouldnt have wanted it any other way.
My recovery has been great, and other than the hot days we've been having, everythign is great. I havent even been on, so i dont know what August moms have delivered. Best of luck to the rest of you....
