having a bad day
luca was up at 3:30 to eat, instead of his normal 5:30 - 6am. then of course i had to pump this morning before work which almost made me late. then DS wakes up so i have to wait for my sister (his nanny) to get there so i can get dressed. of course she is late because her car is iced over. then i have to tell her 5 times that he is fussy because he is hungry before she decides to give him his bottle
then i get to work on time (8:15am), and i realize that my schedule changed for today - i didn't have to be in until 9am!
and then i pump for the second time today and i am barely getting anything. i am drinking a ton of liquids (i can't drink water anymore, i am sick of it) and i am taking fenugreek, and i am pumping for longer than i need to - what gives?
and of course all this just makes me want to be a SAHM that much more, but even if we rented a one-bedroom apartment we still would not be able to live on just DH's salary.
today is just an all-around sucky day.
ETA: and now i feel even worse because the post under mine is about abby's seizure and i feel like i should just be grateful (which i am) and then i feel guilty for even starting this post! i can't win...

Re: having a bad day
Some days just suck. And that's why we have friends to give us hugs and offer sympathetic ears.

Re: having a bad day
And don't compare your posts to others...this is a board where anything goes...vent away...we all need to sometimes!!
Also, when you said you were pumping and hardly getting anything, can that be because you were stressed today? I know stress affects milk supply...Or have you been pumping and hardly getting anything on a regular basis?
Either way, feel better. I always say, you have to get through the rain to make it to the rainbow...

Re: having a bad day
I'm sorry you are having a bad day.
My guess about the low amount you are pumping is because you are tired and stressed. Any change in my schedule and my milk would be all out of whack.
Feel better. I hope tomorrow comes quickly for you!

Re: having a bad day
I hope your day gets better. Take some deep breaths and relax. I think milk production can be directly correlated to stress.....so don't stress out!!!

Re: having a bad day
Sometimes, when I couldn't relax, I couldn't achieve let down while pumping and couldn't get anything out. It happens.
I know the frustrations of being a working mom. IN fact, my male boss tried to 'accidentally' walk into the women's room while I was pumping. Let's just say those pumping sessions were a little lacking.
As I began pumping, I would close my eyes and take a few deep breaths. That usually helped.
