I just wanted to tell you that I, too, am very sorry for you. I can't add to the advice you have already been given as it was all exactly what I would say. I just want to wish you luck in dealing with this very troubling time in your life.Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

I am so sorryChat Icon My SIL had 2 babies pass due to Trisomy 13. She had gone to a genetic counselor and they said there is nothing either one could have done about it.

After the first loss, she got PG very quickly and had a healthy baby!!

Good Luck and try to stay positiveChat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Sending you lots of hugs Christine... Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon I hope you are doing a bit better today..

First of all, I'm so sorry that you had to hear such upsetting news in such a 'cold' way from your doctor. I am glad you will be switching practices after this experience, because NOONE deserves or needs to be treated that way!!

After my miscarriage last year, I also found out after the DNC that my baby had a chromosonal abnormality. I was 35 at the time (now 36) and I know how upsetting and confusing it is to be told to go for genetic counseling and to have to "wait" for a few cycles before TTC again, because I felt like I was just wasting precious time (and I knew how long it had taken me to conceive the 1st time, nearly 1 yr..). Dh and I had the counseling done, and learned that there was NOTHING between either my DH or myself caused our baby to have the condition it did.. and in a way, that (plus the time off) gave me a lot of peace and relief before we began TTC again.. it gave me time to grieve as well, something that at first I wasn't really allowing myself to do...

I just wanted to say that its completely normal to feel the way you do, after experiencing a loss such as you did .. And sometimes the best way to grieve and heal from your loss is to distance yourself a bit from those people who are pregnant , because its just so so hard to be faced with pregnancies and children when its something you want soo badly. I even had to take a short break from these boards because reading "happy news" was just too much for me to bear for a little while. As someone else said, try to explain to your SIL that you need a little space .. and that while you are overjoyed for her happy news, you are mourning your loss right now and need a little distance from her currently.. If she loves you, she WILL understand!!

So many ladies here have gone thru similar situations to what you have, so we're all here for you whenever you need to talk... Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Having a rough day...

All I can say is a HUGE thank you and a big Chat Icon back to all of you. The support and love from you guys got me through the weekend.

My SIL did tell a mutal friend of ours about the pregnancy so we had a lunch date yesterday and I was finally able to vent to someone other than DH how upsetting it all is. She was wonderful and also told me that the first thing my SIL said after telling her was how awful the timing is and how worried she was about me and talking about it in front of me. It really made me feel better.

Thank you, Redstar for the FM. I caught my DH reading it after I went in the shower- I think he understands a little better how hurtful it is to tell me, when are you going to get over this.

I'm so sorry!Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon I know her demeanor was terrible but I would definitely recommend genetic counseling. It can put your mind at ease to some issues and give you some definite insight into both of your medical backgrounds and (if any) complications down the road.

I would maybe suggest that you are not feeling well to SIL. I know she's excited but you should not be forced to be put in a position you are not ready for or comfortable with at this moment. You are definitely entitled to be selfish right nowChat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Having a rough day...

Christine, I'm sorry to hear this, but stay positive. There are a lot of Dr's out there and I hope you find ones that a better fit. Don't give up either! Think healthy baby thoughts, we're all praying for you and your DH!

(We're not TTC but I just like to look on here, learn more and bring a little support to the causes.)
