having DC stay over at parent's house
So my parents want to take DS, age 4, to stay at their house, which is fine. But DD who is 2 also wants to go. How can I explain to her that she is a little to young - per my parents. They said that they cannot always understand her so they want to wait a little while with her. I told her that next time would be her turn. I feel badly for her. How can I make her alone time with mommy and daddy special so she feels like she is not left out?

Re: having DC stay over at parent's house
DD#2 still wakes many nights so I don't let her stay at my parents house - plus they only want one at a time. So when they take DD#1 we take DD#2 out to dinner and we cuddle and watch a movie and read books, and play games. Basically we make it her special night. In fact last time she asked when they could take DD#1 again so she could have her special night again.
