Having trouble getting your DC to use the sippy cup?? C'mon in..........I have a solution!!!
So I've been trying since 6 months old to get my DD Emerson to use the sippy cup the RIGHT way. (She will be 1 on the 19th!! ) I've tried every cup......Munchkin, Nuby, Playtex, etc. etc. I've tried straw cups, spout cups, you name it........I tried it!! She wasn't getting the whole "suck the water out" concept. It was too hard.
ALAS!!! I tried one last cup and BINGO!!!!.........she's got it!!! The cheap "Take and Toss" cups they sell in Target and BRU. A pack of 5 sippy cups was $3.50. They are GREAT!!!!! The spout allows the water to trickle out just enough so she gets that there is something in there and is motivated to suck more to get it. With the other cups with the valves she just wasn't getting it because she had to suck SO hard she gave up. With the Take and Toss cups she figured it all out in like 2 minutes. AWESOME!!!!
YAY!!!!...............just in time too since she will be transitioning over to milk in just 2 weeks!!!

YUP that is the only cup my ds will use. We have every sippy imaginable and he prefers these ones.
Just be careful, if she tosses them... the top will most likely come off and the milk will go everywhere. Yeah so much fun.

If you shake them around a little will come out, not quite as leak proof as a sippy cup, but that being said........at least she's drinking so I'll take a little leakage for now.
My only concern is the top doesn't screw on and it probably won't take her long to figure out how to pop the top off. I'll just have to watch her when she uses them.

They are great trainer cups.
But they do leak b/c there is no real valve in the spout.
But for DC figuring it out!

Yea Kaydyn figured out pretty quickly she could drop the cup on the floor (we have wood floors) and the top would pop off. Tons of fun for her, not so much for us...but she doesn't have a problem with sippy cups so we really don't use those kind anymore.
It's good that she realizes there's something in there she wants to drink. Then maybe you can move over to the other types of ones shortly.

That's what I'm hoping.
