Having trouble with healthy breakfast foods
I cant find anything I like that doesnt have a lot of carbs or sugar. I'd like to stay away from breads and fruits. Any recommendations? I'm a type 2 diabetic looking for something under 20g of carbs. Thanks!

Re: Having trouble with healthy breakfast foods
Plain yogurt (I like to add grape nuts - yum)
Egg sandwich - one fried egg over a lowfat multigrain english muffin with one slice of lowfat cheese
Omelette

Re: Having trouble with healthy breakfast foods
Eggs seem to be the only thing I can eat, but I worry about the cholesterol. I'll definitely try the multigrain english muffin though. Thanks!
Any other suggestions?

I like cream of wheat also, you can add a little sugar free syrup. Yum!

How about egg whites only, or 1 whole egg and some extra whites?
Ditto on the yogurt, try Fage 2%. It's much thicker and more filling than regular yogurt. You can add fruit, a little granola or tiny bit of honey/splenda to sweeten it.

WW rye toast with 2% melted cheese or with Light cream cheese and jelly...that has been my breakfast for the past few weeks.

My favorite breakfast was egg whites and tomato on whole wheat toast.

Both my parents are diabetics & they have either low sugar oatmeal or Special K cereal. They follow everything to the serving size.
