Hawaii - Oahu
Im planning a trip to Hawaii the first week of December. Dh and I will be spending 4 nights in Oahu. Any suggestions on what to do there and any feedback on The Hyatt in Waikiki?
I know Im in the minority in wanting to stay in Oahu. But Dh and I prefer the city scene.
TIA!!

Re: Hawaii - Oahu
You are going to have so much fun!!!
I stayed w/ a friend so I can't comment on places to stay but I would:
visit pearl harbor
have brunch at duke's in waikiki
i would rent a car and just drive along the perimeter of the island...it will take a few hours but you can see the norht shore beach towns, the dole plant and the maze, and get to see kailua on the east coast of the island
def got to kailua beach which is east of waikiki - it is always voted as one of the most beautiful beaches
There is nice shopping at the Ala Moana mall
I would also try to do a one day hiking/snorkeling tour bc youill get to see the beautiful waterfalls
and snorkel at Hanauma Bay!!

Definitely do all of this! Try the hula pie at Duke's - it's amazing.
If you are going to snorkel at Hanuama Bay, get there early in the day because there are more fish there then.

Re: Hawaii - Oahu
We were only there for three days on our Honeymoon, we stayed at the Outrigger on Waikki Beach.
We did Pearl Harbor and tour after, submarine excursion, sunset dinner cruise and saw the show Society of Seven (in the Outrigger hotel)
Everything was pretty good except the show. I did not enjoy the show at all, it was geared to a more older crowd and seemed to go on forever.
We also walked around the city alot.
Believe it or not, we never went to the beach or pool there. They were both very small and we were only there for three days and did mostly site seeing.
ETA - I saw a PP mention Duke's, that is a nice place on the beach to grab a burger. It is in the Outrigger hotel.
