HCG level

Hi and best wishes to all..

I have been coping with recurrent pregnancy loss the entire year. Yesterday I got my first positive since July so the DR sent me for an HCG blood test. It came back 24. Now I am thinking that is pretty low and expecting to go through the whole chemical thing again. I am really praying it is not! My last AF was 9/28. Can you guys let me know what your HCG was at approx. the same stage I am in. Thank you very much and good luck.

Re: HCG level

I get my results on Monday but my lmp was a week earlier than you, making you about 4 weeks - maybe even earlier.

The main issue with HCG is not the number, but the doubling of the number.

Re: HCG level

If your last AF was 9/28 then you may not have even missed AF yet, right? You're just at about 4wks? You really have to go back to see if your numbers are doubling over 2-3 days - the number itself means little on its own.

Hang in there - I know it can be nervewracking but 24 at about 4 wks is simply confirmation that you are pregnant - the next number will be more helpful to you. Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: HCG level

I went through a similar thing with several m/c. Has your Dr. given you the blood test called recurrent pregnancy loss panel? It is a test the can find if you have any abnormalities that could be causing you to lose the baby. I tested positive for MTHFR...I take an injection 2x a day and Iam now 29 1/2 weeks.

Good Luck!

If you haven't even missed AF yet, then your HCG wouldn't be very high. Thats why many HPTs don't detect the HCG until AF is late.

Here is a range of normal HCGs...

The most important thing is that your HCG doubles every 2-3 days. Good Luck!Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon
