HCG SHOT
I had 3 IUI's this weekend, one Sat, one Sun and one Mon. I also got the HCG shot on Sat. Can the HCG shot cause me to still get a surge on an OPK? When I went to the doctor on Monday she told me that my eggs looked like they were dropping. Well she actually said they look like they deflated. I did an opk today just because..and the surge line was still darker than the refrence line.

Re: HCG SHOT
Hmmm where did you do the IUI?
I think Redstar can give you a lot of info on this - have you been temping?

Re: HCG SHOT
Hi Kara, I did the IUI's at NSUH. The temp thing never worked for me so I don't do it. My readings were always all over the place so my doc told me to just do the OPK's.

Do you have PCOS? I do and that is why my temps are all over the place. My doc there wanted me to start temping but if I'm not medicated it just looks like an EKG.

No I don't have PCOS. I think because I'm a restless sleeper my temps are out of whack.

Re: HCG SHOT
Yes the hcg shot will definitely give you a positive opk. Hcg and LH are almost identical in molecular structure. If you are pregnant, you will most likely have a positive opk. Hcg, is pregnancy hormone....so therefore, it causes hpts and opks to be positive.

Re: HCG SHOT
Glad you asked this. I did an OPK last night just to see and the test line popped up immediately!! I have the HcG shot on Sunday.
So we BD just in case last night. I would have been having sex all week!!

Re: HCG SHOT
When you take the trigger shot, make sure not to test too early because then you may get a false positive...on a hpt. Depending on how much hcg you were given, usually by 10 dpo it should be gone.
