He has a bad cold

Ugh- both Matty and I have bad colds. The poor thing can't blow his nose of course and he is so miserable- it's all in his nose I think but my mom is taking him to the doctor to double check- its the third day that he is so congested and unhappy. Chat Icon

We were making so much progress with his sleeping too- I had just started a bit of CIO- and he didn't even cry! Just grunted for five minutes and fell asleep on his own- only one awakening in the night- we were going to practice that for a while and then move on to tackle his 5am wake ups! No more brining him into our bed. He was napping like a pro in his crib too. Now he has spent the past two nights sleeping with us because I feel so bad for him I don't want him to cry at all when he is sick like this- on top of all this, he has stopped eating solids- won't take a bite! Only wants his baba now....Chat Icon

Thanks Barb! Chat Icon

Dr. said it is a headcold- not in his chest- nothing more we can do for him- keep his head elevated and use the saline drops and syringe. Poor baby! Also, let him be and don't force the solids! I just have a bad feeling that we are going to have a hard time getting the solids going again. Chat Icon

Ariella - Have you tried a humidifier? That usually helps Grace a ton when she is sick. Also the saline drops are great, but Grace always fights me on that one.

So glad to hear it's not in his chest!

I agree with Dina - the humidifier is a huge help with colds. If you don't have one, let me know.

Also if your night gets really bad, consider letting him sleep upright in a car seat or bouncy seat.Chat Icon
