Headboard's too big...any suggestions?

Today DH and I went bedroom furniture shopping and I found a bed that I love...but the problem is that the headboard is too tall! We have an expanded cape and the bed unfortunately would only fit against the sloping ceiling wall. The set is a great price and every other piece fits except for the stupid headboard!! Letting it stick out from the wall is not an option, because it would block the door. So, my question is, do you think they would be able to trim the legs or the headboard? Any other suggestions? Thanks!

How far out would it stick from the wall bc of the sloped ceiling if you put it where you wanted too? You could always put a ledge behind it and out some lighting on it for "mood"?

Otherwise, if its wood, I say just trim the legs.

It would stick out so that you would have to walk around it to get out the bedroom door, or around it to get into the bedroom! It's beyond frustrating, because we're redoing all the rooms in our home (some just painting, others like the bathroom gutting and starting fresh!) and it's annoying for me to not be able to do my bedroom the way I want it ya know? But thanks for the advice, I hope it works!Chat Icon

I had the same problem. We did not attach it to the bed frame and we cut the legs and it fits perfectly behind the bed.

Hope that helps
