healing after a c-section

Its been 6 days since my c-section and im still very sore and taking my meds. How long did it take to feel some relief? I am still sleeping sitting up, it hurts too much to lay on my side. How soon did you sleep on your side?

Re: healing after a c-section

I would say about 2 weeks it started to get easier and I felt better. It wasnt until about 6 weeks I felt pretty much back to normal. Chat Icon

Re: healing after a c-section

I felt significant pain and tenderness for about 2 weeks-3 weeks. Slept on my side at about 2 weeks.

still had minimal pain till about 8 weeks.

6 months PP I still felt some soreness but it was almost totally gone.

Two weeks seem to be the beginning of when I started to feel somewhat "normal" again. I had to take things slow but for the most part wasn't in constant pain anymore.

Re: healing after a c-section

It takes a good two weeks to feel better. Once your staples (if you got them) come out you will see a big difference.

Re: healing after a c-section

It took two weeks for me to stop taking meds and being able to sleep comfortably. Now at over three weeks, I feel great and am completely off of the meds.

Make sure to rest and walk as much as you can. You will have good and bad days, make sure you don't over do it.
