honestly it depends on how he is paid. I was paid weekly therefore my insurance ended on the day my employment was terminated. and was then put on COBRA. I do know that most companies that pay bimonthly will prob. cover you to the end of the month. so if you resign Jan 30th, your covered till Jan 31st, but if you resign Feb 1st then your covered till Feb 29th. but it all depends on when your paid, they cant cover you for a time period your not earning a paycheck since they have no $ to deduct from you for the insurance. or at least thats why my HR told me and I worked for a fortune 500 company prior to having DS.

Easy answer...the company can shoose to end coverage on any date, including termination date, there is no law against it. Many times payments are made in bulk like every 6 months so many people will be paid till then and it will come out of paychecks ....
If they turn around and term someone on the day they left the job, you would need to get reimbursed from the old Employer.
