healthy diet
im reading up on what you "should" eat while pregnant...and im just finding it hard to actually eat what seems like all those servings
even before being preg i feel like ive never eaten the appropriate recommendations...even with the standard 3 meals a day. im small to begin with.
does anyone have any suggestions on how to make sure to eat what is needed for the baby????

Re: healthy diet
i dont think you can possibly eat all the recommended servings.
i eat a lot of fruit and salads so that helps. i used to eat lots of yogurt for dairy but lately they upset me so i had to stop. so i try to incorporate some milk and cheese.
im not an eater..and eating has been very hard for me during pregnancy. make sure you take your vitamins too.

i didnt think the whole food thing would be this hard (for me at least)!

Re: healthy diet
I read that book "what to eat when you are expecting". I couldn't believe how many serving of whole grains they wanted me to get in!! Other servings too, but the whole grain really hit me.
I think overall the book was a good read for me. It gave me an idea of what I should try and get in within a day. It made me alter meals (i.e. get the sandwich on whole wheat instead of a bagel, have the apple as a snack instead of the cookies staring at me, order the salad instead of the hero DH is getting ) I do make sure I have a glass of milk everyday since calcium is so important.
Just do your best.
I think even little changes at each meal/snack make a difference.
