Re: Hearing test
No experience as a mom but I grew up with a hearing loss in my left ear and it didn't really have any severe impact on my life. Hopefully your DD's will be minor as well.

I'm so sorry! I have 2 friends from college that were both deaf in one of their ears and it also did not have a severe impact on their lives. Hopefully your DC's will not be as severe.

Re: Hearing test
Does Brianna get a lot of ear infections? That can effect her hearing. Damien's hearing was. Once he got tubes he did great!!

Re: Hearing test
First I want to give you hug
Secondly, I had a hearing problem when I was younger b/c I had severe ear infections that damaged my ear drums. Unfortunately there wasn't testing like we have today so my parents didnt figure it out until I went to kindergarten and my 1st hearing test. I had learned to read lips and speak on my own so they were clueless just like my dr. I had to go for speech thereapy all through elementary school but obviously, I turned out ok Overtime, my ear drums were able to heal themselves and while I do still have a slight hearing loss in each of my ears, you can't tell.
I would take her to the ENT and stay on top of it!!!!

Re: Hearing test
I was diagnosed with profound deafness in my right ear when I was 6 years old. It has never held me back and I make my living as a singer and actor. Your daughter will be fine!

Re: Hearing test
Was there fluid in her ears? Matthew and Christopher both get fluid and Matthew didnt do to good with his test, so we are going ahead and getting tubes for both boys.

Re: Hearing test
Troy has had the hearing test in the Ped's office done 2 times. He did not pass either time.
NOTE: The second test was done AFTER he had tubes put in- and he still failed. I am not worried b/c he can hear. I often "test" by whispering for him to say or do something and he says or does what I say. The other day he heard DH's phone vibrating in the other room- PS DH didn't even hear it!
