Heart burn
For those that have heartburn how many and often do you take tums. Mine has really kicked in this week in the late afternoon - i am scared to take to many tums

I took Tums ALL THE TIME- seriously. I had the worst heartburn that you could imagine. I took the maximum dosage allowed. I wound up having acupuncture done to help with the heartburn since nothing helped. My doctor also told me that I can take up to 150 mg. of Zantac a day when necessary.

Tums do nothing for me. Luckily I don't get it too bad yet, but I bought some Pepcid just in case. I do take about 2 tums a night when it's bothering me though. I don't think they are that harmful.
