Heart Murmur-C-Section
So it was determined that I have a heart murmur from the cardiologist, What are the chances that I would be having a c-section because of a heart murmur? Everyone has been telling me that the dr is not going to let me go through labor with that. Not sure if this is true or not!

Re: Heart Murmur-C-Section
I think that's a question that can only be answered by your cardiologist after a consult with your OB..... I bet it's highly dependent upon your specific situation.....
I hope you're still able to deliver by which ever means you want... but in the end, what ever is best for you, is also best for baby!

Re: Heart Murmur-C-Section
I have mitral valve prolapse, which is a type of murmur, and was never told I would need a c-section because of it.

Re: Heart Murmur-C-Section
I have a heart murmur (I actually have a bicuspid aorta with stenosis ) and wondered the same thing when I was pregnant. I was able to deliver vaginally, just needed an IV of antibiotics while I was in labor, to prevent infection.
Have you seen a cardiologist yet?
