Heatworm Pills - a question...
I gave Lilly her heartworm pill last night. It's the second one that she's had since we've had her. I forgot to give it to her with her dinner (which she eats at 6:15) and gave it to her at 8:30 with some snacks.
After I gave it to her, she was CRAZY!!!! her eyes looked wild and she was bouncing off the walls.
She settled down around 10:30 when I took her up into bed. At midnight, she got up and threw up all of her dinner.
Could this have been a reaction from the heartworm pill? She is usually a crazy pup, but I have NEVER seen anything like this last might.
Also - she threw up about 4 hours after taking it - do yu othink it was absorbed enough in her little body???

In all seriousness--we gave Ecko my jack russell his heartworm pill last night too. About an hour after we gave it to him he wouldn't stop farting-for like a good 2 hours.
I'm wondering if it could be side effects.

i would call the vet and ask them.
I have never noticed any adverse reactions with heartworm pills

I agree. I would call the vet V... My old dog never had a reaction like that to his heartworm medication.

She's doing better today, thanks!  Back to completely normal!
I think it might have been because I fed it to her on an empty stomach - lesson learned!

My dog has never had a reaction...and I usually give it to her on an empty stomach.
My guess is that she threw up from running around immediately after getting all the treats.
She'll probably need another pill.
