Re: heavy lifting
Um, DS is 18 months and 32 lbs. I'm 17 wks and carry him practically everywhere. It's fine. There's nothing you can do.
Tell them they are more than welcome to be your mother's helper all day every day if they have an issue with you lifting Chels. That should shut them up.

I just told that to my mom...if she wants to quit her job and come lift Chels, she knows how nervous I am as it is...and the she adds this crap to it

Re: heavy lifting
I'm lifting my DC all day long, as well as the stroller, etc. What are you supposed to do? Ignore her for 9 months? Everyone who is pregnant and has a toddler does it!

ITA! I have to carry my DD around, she cannot walk everywhere yet. She was 15 months old when I got pregnant, and I figured plenty of pregnant women lift their kids up. If for some reason down the road, the dr needs you to stop lifting heavy things, deal with it at that time! Sorry people are adding to your stress!

Re: heavy lifting
I carried DS around (over 30 lbs) until the day I gave birth to the twins. You will be fine!

Re: heavy lifting
i remember reading somewhere that if your body is used to doing a certain exercise (in your case lifting), then it's ok to keep doing that same thing while pregnant.
