Heckscher State Park
Is Heckscher State Park a good beach to go to with a one year old?
If not, can you please recommend one for tomorrow. Preferably in Suffolk...Thanks :)

Yes, I think Heckscher would be nice. They just redid the playgrounds this year. Nice padded floor. There is the beach on the bay near the playground to let DC play in the sand, with a snack bar.
There is a small beach in Islip down S Bay Ave that is nice, Has a playground & snackbar. A large Gazebo. Not sure what town are you looking for?

Can we swim @ in the bay?
My best friend is taking the train in to Ronkonkoma in the morning, so I really don't want to go too far from there (like Jones Beach), but if you have a good suggestion, let me know!
