Helicopters circling in Massapequa
Helicopters have been circling not far from my house in Massapequa.Anyone know why?

My 13 year old was at Fairfield school with his friends. A teenager approached them and started talking and then asked for someones hat. The kids said no and the teenager left (He was 16 or 17)) Then undercover cops came up to my son and friends asking if they saw anyone. Apparently this teenager held up the White Castle over by the mall. I saw cops checking out the preserve on the south side of Sunrise. My son said it was weird.

there are cops and detective all over. I just went out and near the preserve they have a detective car or a cop car at every street corner. If this guy is in the preserve, there is no way he is getting out.

DH and I were driving on Sunrise Highway in this area today. We saw a ton of cops- most of them had bulletproof vests on- and a few had really big guns. It was freaky!

Oh maybe due to the girl and mom who got held up yesterday at MM. They were not injured, but maybe that was why the cops were in full force today for sure.

I was going to Walbaums in Massapequa when 9 cop cars ( i counted) drove 1000mph seriens and everything on..

I heard that a jewelry store was held up and had windows shot out, etc. On Merrick Road I believe. Crazy. I wish the whole story would be on news 12.

Ok, I got the story straight. Now it makes sense why the teenage was at Fairfield and not by the mall somewhere. He didn't hold up White Castle, but a jewerly store in Massapequa by Carmelas pizza. There were 3 of them. The owner fought them and shot one in leg. Those 2 were arrested. The other, who approached my son and friends got away (I think) They caught the guys in the preserve.
