Re: help-- anyone know the formula to figure out % difference
I know it in retail terms
retail- cost/retail = mark up
so I guess you can apply the same thing here

Re: help-- anyone know the formula to figure out % difference
I estimated it and got about 21% difference
( I rounded off the numbers) but there is about a 1.5M difference between the two - which divided by 6.4 is 21%

shoot- I did the 6.4- 5.0/6.4
your way it's 28%
unless it's in a retail form- I am not good at math

Divide the lower # by the higher #
thats how you figure out what the % is a percentage OF another.
Like if you take out a $100,000 mortgage, but your property is worth $500,000, than if you divide $100K/$500K you get 20%. $100K is 20% of $500K.
if you want to get a % increase - than its the (Highest #-lowest #)/Lowest#

Re: help-- anyone know the formula to figure out % difference
i just did it over and got 26%
$6,400,700 - $5,065,000 = $1,335,700
then
$1,335,700 divided by $5,065,000 = 26%

Re: help-- anyone know the formula to figure out % difference
1335700/5065000 = x/100
so you cross multiply 1335700=5065000x
divide by 5065000 to find x
1335700/5065000 =x
26.37%
i love math
