Help - Looking for HOST FAMILIES!!!
I am so excited we have been chosen to host a Spanish student for 28 days this summer. The organization is still looking to place a few more students. THey are 14 - 17 years of age, come from Northern Spain, and have some English abilities. Most have studied in Ireland or abroad elsewhere before.
The students arrive JUNE 25 (!!) and depart July 22. They will have 2 field trips per week. The rest of the time, they are just here to experience being part of an American family.
All students are circumspectly screened before being permitted to participate in the program.
Please, these kids are waiting for the news that they have found a HOME for a few weeks here. Your family will get so much out of it as well. I can speak from experience as I went abroad to Spain in College and now I am bilingual, my daughter speaks Spanish, and those friendships I developed over 20 years ago are still going strong!

I hope you enjoy the experience. We were a host family to a lot of students during my teens and we had some good and bad experiences.

i've seen signs all over farmingdale this week for this. wasn't sure if it was real or not!
wish i could host a student, but we don't have the room. good luck!

I would be Interested maybe when my children are much older. I have heard of good and bad experiences. It's a gamble.
