help a big girl out
i am plus size (think 20) and i got the most comfortable booties in all the world (at payless of all places). so far, i have worn them with my boot cut jeans, so you can't see them. i have no idea what to wear them with. the idea of skinny jeans is frightening (pork sausage legs anyone?) can someone help me with styling? here's the link to the shoe. i can't get the pic to post: booties

Re: help a big girl out
hmmm - if you're not comfortable showing your legs at all, I'm not really sure what your options are?
Are you ok with leggings and a tunic? or a dress/skirt? Those could easily work and look cute - Even a size 2 shouldn't wear leggings w/o a decently long shirt, it just looks stupid (See the 900 million threads on legging rules)

it's not so much showing my legs, it's how tight skinny jeans are. I like the tapered cuff on the bottom that fits nicely into the boots, but i hate that it is so tight on my thighs that you can see everything.
i guess i'd want tapered pants that are not super super tight, but have no idea if those even exist.

What if you got a long shirt or tunic that covered your thighs?

I feel like I can't pull off booties - but I do often wear straight leg jeans, cuffed, with stilletos ..........
My favorite straight legs are from the GAP -

the problem with a tunic is my protruding belly. i look 10 months pregnant. i would need a xxl on the bottom, but a l-m on top because my shoulders are tiny. i'm so disproportionate!

Re: help a big girl out
I am PS too and if I wear booties its with a dress but with black opaque stockings. I feel like my legs look much thinner in those.

Re: help a big girl out
I recently bought a couple pairs of pants at the Gap outlet that cuff right above the ankle and are too tight for a boot to fit under.
I wore a pair with booties to work last week and got a ton of compliments on both my booties and the outfit in general.
I wear a size 12 or 14 in pants depending on the brand.

Re: help a big girl out
What abt curvy skinny jeans? They have more room for your body in them. I got a pair in the loft. If they don't carry your size in the store, they may have online.

Check out Macys plus size Inc clothing line. They have great thick leggings and they offer curvy skinny jeans with a great stretch to it. I wouldn't shy away from wearing them, you can make it work. Check out this site

Im plus size also. I love the look of skinny jeans as well and I have decided to take the plunge. You have to wear the jeggings/leggings with a long tunic type shirt. I didn't by booties, but I bought boots (wide calf) at payless and It doesn't look as bad as I thought. I just need to find more tunic type shirts that hide the belly area.
I say go for it. It will look nice.

End of this past winter I made out like a bandit in the clearance section of Old Navy. I bought a lot of button down blouse type shirts in larger sizes and they are longer and looser like a tunic style.
I normally wear a medium or large in shirts but went a size or two up. They also believe it or not have held up well.
Try the cheapie big box stores too....think Kmart of all places, have found similar there too if you can tolerate sifting through old lady stuff too.
