Help-Cleaning Gas Stove
I have always had an electric stove and and rencelty moved to a house with a gas sove. I am having a problem cleainging it....I have a kitchen aid stove top...and often if the water boils to high or something spills, it just makes a mess on the stove top it's hard to clean off (an electric stove top is so much easier)...so I tired using brillo big mistake...I have scrach marks all over the plated part....What do I do? There are also a few chips on the plated part, from when I moved into the home...is there a way to recote the part with a spary or something? I find that the gas stove is just so messy...Am I missing something is there an easier way to clean it?

Re: Help-Cleaning Gas Stove
Once the laminate is chipped that is pretty much it. They used to sell enamel touch up paint, but from what I remember it can bubble up & make for a more annoying situation. They sell tins that you can put in the well of the gas burners to help prevent stains from leaks, but honestly the best thing to do is to clean up any spills right when they happen.

Re: Help-Cleaning Gas Stove
My MIL bought me touch up paint from a local appliance store and it worked great on my stove. When I moved in it was chipped and scratched. To clean the top of the stove, I use Mr Clean Magic Eraser to get all the boil-over and platter mess off. Then I spray and wipe off a cleaner with a disinfectant like 409 or Fantastik.

Baking soda works well, and I haven't had problems with scratching. You need to put a good blob on the burn spot, spray a little water on it, and let it sit, if possible overnight. It does remove almost any burns though.
